The Code Enforcement Dept. maintains an appropriate standard of living for all residents and business owners in which to adhere. As the Town Commission adopts appropriate codes of ordinances under which we all live, it is the Code Officer’s responsibility to ensure that those codes are being followed. Businesses, residential homes, apartment complexes, and public facilities must maintain a certain standard of appearance, health, and safety. Any that do not follow appropriate standards will be cited and their owners will have to appear before the Code Board. The Town’s Code Enforcement Board is made up of volunteer citizens who adjudicate code cases. They determine whether or not an organization is meeting appropriate criteria and following the laws of the Town. The Code Board determines what action should be taken on a case by case basis. This is very important for the community.
