Town Engineer
Town of Pembroke Park, Florida
The Town of Pembroke Park is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented leader with extensive experience in engineering management, capital planning and administration. The Town Engineer will perform a variety of duties having primary responsibility for planning and developing a program for capital projects, developing engineering standards, and managing the work of consulting engineers.

Candidate must have the ability to prepare budgets and monitor expenditures; ability to prepare and maintain detailed records; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town officials, associates, and the general public.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Review of engineering plans, calculations, cost estimates and specifications for the construction of the Town’s infrastructure, which includes storm water, sanitary sewer, streets, sidewalks, buildings, parks, street lighting and other facilities; checks plans, calculations, cost estimates and specifications for accuracy of design and completeness; ensures adherence to applicable laws, codes, regulations, and guidelines; plans and directs all aspects of the Town’s infrastructure maintenance and repair activities, including planning and oversight of contracted work; reviews plans for residential and commercial subdivisions and other private developments; attends meetings and conferences; provides information to the public on department operations for current and proposed projects, overseeing roads and streets, working in conjunction with Code Enforcement.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Florida is required. Candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible engineering management experience, as a practicing Professional Engineer, with a minimum of two (2) years in the capacity of a Municipal Engineer. Supervisory experience is required. Relevant construction experience is required.

Starting salary: $85,000 +/- dependent on experience. Full benefits package.
